Session DescriptionAn explanation of how one First Nations person practises Traditional grounding to enhance Well-Being and offering it to others through drumming and sharing a song. 

Speaker Biography:  Dee (Denise) Thomas is an Anishinabe woman who is an Off-Reserve Member from the Sakgeeng First Nation and lives in Winnipeg, MB. with her husband Dave and four legged son Wagoosh. Dee was a part-time Education and Training Coordinator in the Indigenous Health Programs- Winnipeg Regional Health Authority. Dee co-facilitating workshops on Indigenous Cultures Awareness and was part of the working group for the Manitoba Indigenous Cultural Safety Training. Dee has been non- registered since 2020 but continues to share her journey in mental wellness and how learning about Indigenous ceremonies has kept her grounded for many years.
