Our esteemed colleague, Josephine Muxlow, RN, MS, CPMHN(C), FCAN, recently won the “Internationally Educated Nurses Longtime Achievement Award!”
This award is given out by the Nova Scotia Internationally Educated Nurses Network (NSIENN) which has been in existence for approx 11 years.
This award celebrates IENs, employers, community organizations, and IEN champions from across Nova Scotia who demonstrate outstanding commitment to advancing IEN integration and excellence within nursing practice and healthcare.
The criteria for this award was as follows:
Eligibility criteria

Demonstrates a 35+ year career in nursing.

May be retired or actively practicing as an IEN.
Award criteria
Nominees will be evaluated based on demonstrated excellence in at least three of the following criteria:

Shows sustained excellence and commitment.

Upholds the highest standards of professionalism and ethics.

Evidence of influential leadership, such as playing a key role in shaping programs, policies, teams, or systems.

Evidence of contributions to advancing IEN integration.

Evidence of mentorship and capacity building, including contribution to the growth and success of others.
-
Evidence of commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
-
Evidence of professional contributions and scholarship.
-
Evidence of community impact.
